Brian Howe Biography

Brian Howe was born in Portsmouth England, a keen supporter of the local football (soccer) team. Brought up as a poor black child he discovered music as a three year old just after his father (white)  punched him in the ear….it was singing for about a week and thus was his first introduction to the world of music. His mother (white also) claims to have invented “stereo” after punching him in both ears!!! Life was very hard in those dark days in England. Dark because the electricity in the house had been cut off between 1963-69 Brian thought he was actually going blind for a good part of that time and was actually told by his parents that Stevie Wonder was his brother and that blindness ran in the family.

In 1978 Brian Howe was sent to the store to get a newspaper and on returning found that his family had moved… this prompted him to join another bunch of homeless people and form a band. This band were not only homeless but were in fact also hopeless so Brian moved to London to join a band called “white spirit”. White Spirit were a band trying to be another band (deep purple ) so after awhile Brian did the next best thing and joined a real other band. This band was the Ted Nugent band……….where Brian discovered that he was indeed a white boy ( it was indeed Ted who pointed this out ). After recording an album called “Penetrator” and going on a world tour with Ted , Brian’s ears began singing again but this time were out of tune so Brian moved on to re-form BAD COMPANY in late 1984.
